Summit County Pet Food Pantry provides pet food for pets and their families in need in Summit, Lake, and Eagle Counties. Our goal as an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit is to partner with local organizationsto keep pets at home with their families and out of shelters.
The Summit County Pet Food Pantry serves the communities in Summit, Lake, and Eagle Counties. We distribute pet food to the FIRC, Father Dyer, and Dillon Community Church food pantries, the two campuses of the Mountain Community College, the Summit County Non-Profit Medical Clinics, the Summit County Animal Shelter, and the Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Pantry. We also distribute pet food to the food pantries in Lake and Eagle Counties. We will distributing pet food to clients attending a Vaccination Clinic on February 25, 2026 in Frisco, Colorado.
We discovered a significant void in the availability, quantity, and equitable distribution of pet food in Summit County for pets and their families presently in need. The only source of free pet food previously was a small unmonitored food locker at the Summit County Animal Shelter that was open 24/7.
Our goal is to keep pets healthy and home with their families and, very importantly, out of the shelters. In addition, with greater capacity, shelters can function in the manner for which they were designed and not have to oversee pets that belong in their forever home.
