Summit County is welcoming visitors starting June 1, 2020. Our community and businesses have all been working together to keep residents and visitors safe by following the protocols and guidelines provided by the CDC, state and county. Please follow our “5 Commitments of Containment” during your time in the valley.
What Is Open and Operating?
At this time hotels, motels and campgrounds will open June 1st. Short term rentals (VRBO, AirBnB, Timeshares) are not included in the local public health order or the Safer at Home Executive Order. County officials continue to work with the state for approval of the variance request that was denied by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
Restaurants may open with 50 guests or 50% capacity indoors, whichever is less. Reservations are recommended. Please check with specific restaurants for certain hours and regulations.
Effective May 8, 2020, all establishments providing non-critical retail services may open up to fifty (50%) capacity or less for in-person services if the establishment meets several standards. The number of customers in the store is limited to 1 person per 100 square feet of retail areas, and all individuals, including customers and employees, must maintain 6 feet of distance from each other while wearing masks.
The Summit Stage and Breckenridge Free Ride are operating with limits of 20% capacity. All other transportation services have commenced operations and must comply with Summit County Physical Distancing Protocols as well as all applicable CDPHE guidance.
- Members of the same household may sit together while maintaining the appropriate Physical Distancing Requirements among individuals who are not members of the same household.
- All transportation services riders and operators must wear face coverings at all times and follow appropriate Physical Distancing Requirements to the greatest extent possible.
Other Fun Happenings
Dillon Farmers Market
The Farmers Market will be open June 12 - September 11 Pick up Palisade peaches from Forte Fruits, sample Bjorn's Colorado Honey and stock up on handmade bath products from Conifer-based Taspen’s Organics. Other Colorado-based vendors include Miller Farm and Eat a Peach Farm from Palisade. Continuing into the 2020 season the Dillon Farmers Market will be located on Lodgepole Street adjacent to the Dillon Reservoir. Due to current and future public health orders regarding social distancing and crowd restrictions, there will not be live music at the 2020 Farmers Market.
Walkable Main Street in Breckenridge
As part of the pedestrian-friendly Main Street, the Town of Breckenridge is permitting retail stores to display some retail merchandise on the sidewalk area in front of the store.Closing the roadway to vehicles will allow for more physical distance for pedestrians to visit Main Street responsibly. Breckenridge’s historic sidewalks are narrow, and with the street opened to pedestrian traffic, people can better follow physical distancing protocols. Main Street is expected to be vehicle free for 6-8 weeks.
Pedestrian Promenade on Frisco Main Street
Main Street will be limited to bicycles and pedestrians from Second to Sixth streets allowing merchants to temporarily expand their operations into public patios, streets and parking lots.
