Volunteer Opportunities

Summit County is one of the most dedicated and giving communities, with locals and visitors alike committed to volunteerism and giving back. These dedicated volunteers are the fabric of our community.

At the Summit Chamber, we are committed to providing opportunities for our community to connect and contribute.

Two of our biggest events for fundraising opportunities are coming up and we would love your support!

Frisco BBQ Challenge

The Frisco BBQ Challenge is back for it's 27th year and this event could not happen without volunteers. It takes hundreds of volunteers for this 2 day event (June 17th and 18th) to run successfully, and we need your help at the Country Store!  The Summit Chamber will be running the Country Store again and we need your volunteer support so that we can continue to raise funds and support our business community.

Volunteering at the Country Store is FUN! When you aren't busy selling some of our really cool items, you really can't beat this behind the scenes location. You'll get some of the best people watching, and by the end of your shift you will know exactly which vendor you need to hit up for the best BBQ!  And, the shifts are only 2.5 hours!

*All volunteers receive $10 in BBQ Bucks, a commemorative beer stein, and a t-shirt! *

So come join the fun and support your local Chamber! SIGN UP HERE to VOLUNTEER

Please reach out to cheri@summitchamber.org or blair@summitchamber.org with any questions.

Keystone Wine and Jazz Fest

The Summit Chamber is grateful to be selected, once again, as the beneficiary of the Keystone Wine and Jazz Fest. To make this event a success for Keystone Neighborhood Company, and a successful fundraising opportunity for the Chamber, we need your help filling almost 100 volunteer shifts during this 2 day period (July 16th and 17th).  We are asking for your volunteer support so that we can continue to raise funds and support our business community.

*Each volunteer will receive a free volunteer t-shirt, and either six food tickets or one drink coupon.*

Summit County Community & Senior Center

With COVID-19, Summit County Community & Senior Center (SCCSC) is heavily involved in food relief efforts for not only seniors and individuals with food insecurities, but also people temporarily isolated/quarantined. Our meal deliveries have increased 1000% since March 2020. We provide shelf stable food and fresh meals 5 days a week. Deliveries are safe and are no contact events to keep both volunteers and clients healthy.

At the Summit County Community & Senior Center, we are the volunteer coordinators for programs throughout the county.

  • If helping animals, people , or the environment is your passion, we can help you find an opportunity right for you.
  • Providing medical transportation for those who cannot drive (but are not sick). These transports are typically to physical therapy appointments, eye appointments, etc., both in the county and in Denver. A county car is available for these appointments.
  • Become a neighbor who helps a neighbor! Our Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) program assists individuals who need help (on a short term basis)with small tasks like mail pick up, dog-walking, grocery pick-up or other needed activities.

Contact the Community and Senior Center at 970-668-2940 if you are interested in volunteering or send an email to the Senior Program Coordinator at Laurel.Wilkerson@summitcountyco.gov
